March 2022 Newsletter

Hello Nyayo Family!

March was yet another month full of growth as we accomplished quite a bit! God is continuously working with us and blessing the work our donors provide for these Children’s Homes! Let me first introduce you to our child of the month! The founders personally love hearing from the children each month and hopefully it gives you all a great insight as well to their beautiful smiles and words of love and praise for what God and the Nyayo family means to them!

Greetings From Uganda!

This month we are excited to introduce you to Kabugho Patrus! She is 10 years old and currently at the Ibonde Children’s Home. Gordon personally sent this picture to Mike and I, emphasizing how happy and smiley she constantly is. From our team’s experience of meeting these children, I think it’s amazing to see how many smiles, love and compassion is expressed among them. Their faith, optimism and joy is absolutely admirable and contagious, which makes the “Greetings from Uganda” segments much more special to us. Please feel free to contact us if you would like for us to pass along a message of your own to her!

What’s New?

Piglet #5 Funded and Purchased!

Our new donation page has been enabling our donors to decide how they want to give their funds through various fundraising campaigns that we offer. We have multiple ways of donating towards the needs of the Children Home’s whether that be through basic needs, the piggery, cattle herd, or mosquito nets. We are so grateful and pleased to inform our Nyayo Family that we have been able to raise enough funds for the purchase of our 5th piglet. We have pictures below of pigs 1-4 that we bought in July 2021 as well as the 4 newest piglets we purchased at the beginning of March 2022. Notice how big our first 4 pigs have gotten! Piglet number 5 will be purchased sometime in April.

Although basic needs are 100% essential, the fact that we can also contribute towards the sustainability projects such as piglets and cattle is absolutely incredible. As an organization, we hope that we can one day end Nyayo by helping the Children’s Homes become more self sufficient, creating their own income and contributing to their communities as well. The sustainability projects not only helping with the current and future financial situations of the orphanages but also help the children gain valuable skills by learning various trades. These trades can hopefully help them as they grow into the adult ages and form their own businesses or enter their own unique careers to give back to their communities and prosper through God’s work.

Easter Treat Donation Goal Reached!

We appreciate all the generous donors who can make Easter treats possible this year for the kids! It’s always a nice thing to enjoy something sweet while enjoying the Easter holiday and the resurrection of Christ! We will ensure to take pictures of the kids and their Easter treats so that we can share them will you all in next month’s newsletter!

Mosquito Nets Purchased!

We continue to receive more funds towards mosquito nets for the kids each and every month so thank you all! Although we haven’t yet met our ultimate goal of 200 nets, we slowly keep building towards it as we have been able to replace 77 nets since the start of the campaign in January 2022! Below is a picture of some of the kids with the nets we have purchased thus far!

The Children’s Daily Life

School - The kids are still in class week in and week out, working hard and learning a lot! They get to take some much deserved week off of studying as they approach spring break next week which is exciting!

Feminine Products- The girls are extremely grateful for all the support they’ve been receiving for much needed feminine hygiene products! Below are some pictures Gordon sent of the girls with nothing but smiles as they show off their new products! Thank you donors for making this possible!

Bible Study

Weekly Zoom Studies-

Please reach out if you’re interested in joining our bible studies via zoom every Monday at 7pm CT! We hope to see you there!

Arizona Ski Trip-

The first weekend of March our bible study group was able to get together and have an awesome ski trip to Flagstaff Arizona where there were many laughs and ever lasting memories! We were able to visit the Grand Canyon, ski, snowboard, play board games and even hold a bible study and communion in person! We hope to be able to create more memories together as I’m sure this won’t be our last bible study adventure! Although we have a million great photos to share, below is one of us all together from the trip!
