February 2022 Newsletter

It has been yet another amazing month of growth as God continues to bless Nyayo and everyone involved. Let me first introduce you to our child of the month! It’s an absolute blessing that we are able see the faces of these children month in and month out, hearing them praise Jesus and give thanks to all of you for supporting them. You are all so awesome and you can truly see how you’re making an enormous impact on these kids lives!

Greetings From Uganda!

This month we are excited to introduce you to Tusingwire Joan! She is 11 years old and currently at the Ibonde Children’s Home. She wanted to pass along a message to our donors as she writes, “I greet everyone today and give thanks for loving us. May God lead you”. She has a sweet, gentle soul and loves to praise God. Please feel free to contact us if you would like for us to pass along a message of your own to her!

February’s Nyayo Child of the Month: Tusingwire Joan

What’s New?

New Options For How You Can Donate -

We are excited to announce a new feature on the donation page of the Nyayo website! We received some help from a friend who was nice enough to take their time to create a feature that allows for multiple options when donating. This now allows us to become more transparent to our donors as they can now easily see where our donations are being allocated and how much more we need in order to reach our goals. This feature not only allows us to be more transparent with the funds we receive but also allows the donor to choose specifically where they want their money to go. We are so grateful for our friend that could make this happen, as it helps Nyayo become more efficient! Below are some examples of what you can expect to see when visiting our donation page!

Now Accepting Easter Treat Donations - With the Easter holiday coming up in April, we now are accepting donations to treat the kids to something sweet! Below is a picture from Easter last year where we raised enough to give the kids soda and candy as they celebrated the resurrection of Christ! If you want to donate, you can go to our donation page where you will see “Easter Treats April 2022”.

The Children’s Daily Life

School - As we mentioned last month, school has officially started again as COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. Gordon has been staying really busy as he helps at the school as well as being the eyes and ears of the daily operations within the Children’s Homes in order to give Nyayo the best direction on how to best meet the current needs. Below are some more pictures of the children’s daily life within the classroom setting! The top two pictures show lunch time!

February Giving Report

Donors gave $1,884.67 this month to basic needs! Our founders were able to add our own donations to the Basic Needs fund so we have once more been able to meet our goal of $4,950. Donors also gave $280 to buy 4 new piglets and $1,065 to buy approximately 70 new mosquito nets. Please click Monthly Financial Report for a full detailed breakdown.

A special thanks to our other regulars and one time givers for February’s allocation:

Cindy Dorsainvil, Lydia Foutch, David Phillips, Ryan and Sydney McKenna, Arman and Leslie Jahandafard, Curran Hyde, Angi Keel, Josh Cornett, Earl and Stacey Sutton, Nathan and Cayce McAlister, Brandon and Mahalie Todd, Jacob and Amanda Patterson, Joyce McConnell, Alex and Michelle Moore, Taylor Handley, Taylor Sutton, Sebastian and Eun Joo Tarchala, Michael and Sarah Mantia, Heather Bush, Rhawny Leach, and Abraham Meganathan. Peace and blessings,

Michael, Gordon, and Hunter
