July 2020 Newsletter
Another month has passed and we feel like we have taken more steps to seeing out the vision for Nyayo. We wanted to share some of the things that we’ve been up to:
In July, we raised $7209.35! Although we don’t expect to raise this amount each month going forward it has given us the confidence to increase the amount we plan to send monthly from $4,150 to $4,650 per month! $100 will be added to Jinja’s food allocation and $400 will be added to Ibonde’s food allocation. This is a big deal to us and we are extremely grateful that we can provide more funds for food for both orphanages.
We had 4 new donors give this month! On top of our monthly donors, a special thanks to Antony and Cynthia McNatt, Anna Barrera, Paul Muyu, and Tina Spencer for giving this month.
Earlier this month we launched our website and will be continuing to update it. We are working on new additions to include how Gordon, Hunter, and I met as well as Caregiver profiles.
We are currently exploring different options to help us manage our finances as well as taxes. We completed our first 990N tax return but definitely will need help as we continue to grow!
And now a special word from Johnson Mukonyezi, one of our kids at Jinja Children’s Home:
“My name is Johnson and I am 11yrs old. I’m in Primary 5 . I love waking up early in morning to pray and worship with my brothers and sisters at the orphanage. We play soccer every day and I like striking. My life is very good because I have help from America friends who think about me everyday. I want to be a farmer when I grow old. Right now I have 2 rabbits and I want to start looking after them and start a project. I miss you.”
