Providing stability for basic needs is what started our mission and is our monthly priority. Basic Needs projects raise $4,950 per month to provide shelter, food, and medicine at Ibonde and Jinja Children’s home.
-
From the inception of Nyayo, our long term goal is for each orphanage to operate independently in the future. As such, sustainability projects are those that can generate income and ultimately fund Basic Needs. We work with Gordon and his fellow Ugandan volunteers to identify viable projects and invest accordingly.
-
Orphanages were never meant to replace the emotional care that only a family can give. Outreach projects are aimed at providing support to caregivers and their children in the local surrounding villages. God has blessed Nyayo immensely and we are simply choosing to expand that blessing in hope to eventually transition our kids to guardians in these villages for more focused emotional care.
-
Other captures miscellaneous projects that are typically aimed at improving the lives of either the kids or the caregivers in some way.

Goal:
We are starting to serve the children and caregivers in the local villages that surround Ibonde and Jinja Children’s Homes. There are many disabled in these communities so we have decided to start this effort by focusing funds on purchasing wheelchairs ($250 each) until every child and caregiver in these villages are off the ground.

Bibles

Raised:
Both orphanages and our nonprofit were started from our convictions in what we read and believe in the Bible. We would like to be able to purchase Bibles that our caregivers are asking for. English Bibles cost $15 each and Rutooro (their local language) Bibles cost $30 each.
Our Donation Philosophy
-
In December 2021, Gordon, Hunter, and Michael decided that we would be including all funding campaigns to allow donors the ability to choose where to donate rather than just having one option, Basic Needs. We really want God’s will to be more present over our own, so we are removing ourselves from making decisions associated with donor contribution allocations. It’s become quite simple. Your donation goes entirely to the campaign you assign it to. It was a little scary at first but we pray and know God will guide those who give to whatever is needed.
-
Our founders cover all fees and other expenses associated with operating so what you give goes 100% to what you donate to. We show this in our monthly financial reports.
Please note, we collect money up until the 21st of each month. After the 21st, our founders add our own donations to meet our funding goals, specifically for Basic Needs, and send it to Gordon for execution.
You may also make a tax exempt donation by check or cash.
Please make checks payable to “Nyayo”. Send checks/cash to the address at the bottom of our website and what you’d like your donation to go toward. Pleases also include your email address so that we can send you a receipt.
